Advances in Acoustic Sensing, Imaging, and Signal Processing

Description

The objective of this special issue is to address emerging technologies dealing with the generation, acquisition, and processing of acoustic signals for industrial and medical applications. Submitted papers must address the novelty of one or more challenges in sensor design and fabrication; miniaturization of sensors and system-in-package implementation; signal preprocessing for SNR improvement; postprocessing for image formation, image analysis, echo estimation, and detection.

Authors are welcome to submit original research papers as well as review articles that will emphasize recent trends, breakthroughs, and emerging applications in the field of acoustic sensing, imaging, and signal processing. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Acoustic sensor design and fabrication
  • New materials for acoustic sensors
  • Acoustic MEMS
  • Acoustic flow sensors
  • Sensor array beamforming
  • Acoustic imaging
  • Acoustic tomography
  • Acoustic microscopy
  • Thermoacoustic imaging
  • Photoacoustic imaging
  • Acoustic emission mapping
  • Underwater acoustic imaging
  • Acoustic imaging in air
  • Acoustic image analysis
  • Echo detection and estimation

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/aav/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/ according to the following timetable:
