Bremsstrahlung from Relativistic Heavy Ions in a Fixed Target Experiment at the LHC

The angular distribution of bremsstrahlung from a Pb-208 projectile with energy   incident on a lead target. Note that the cross section is shown to be differential in the polar emission angle rather than in solid angle and hence includes a factor of . The majority of the bremsstrahlung photons are indeed emitted in the very near forward direction.
