Inhibition of Neuroinflammation in LPS-Activated Microglia by Cryptolepine

Cryptolepine (CAS) inhibited the increase in COX-2 and mPGES-1 mRNA in LPS-stimulated microglia. Cells were stimulated with LPS (100 ng/mL) in the presence or absence of CAS (2.5 and 5 μM) for 4 h. At the end of incubation periodtotal RNA was extracted and subjected to RT-PCR. All values are expressed as mean ± SEM for 3 independent experiments. Data were analysed using one-way ANOVA for multiple comparisons with post hoc Student Newman-Keuls test. * in comparison with LPS control.
