Cytoplasmic and mitochondrial cytochrome C levels. Detroit 550 fibroblasts incubated with 1 mM H2O2 for 1 h simultaneously (s) or during recovery (r) with 1 mg/mL of C. papaya (Cp) seeds water extract were harvested for the content of mitochondrial and cytosolic cytochrome C by ELISA assay. Concentrations are expressed as pg/μg of total proteins. Single star indicates a significant value versus the untreated control fibroblasts (); two stars indicate a significant value versus all the others values relative to the cytosolic cytochrome C (). Each value represents the mean ± SE of six independent experiments, each done in duplicate.
