Prevalence and Challenges of Hypertensive Heart Diseases in the Real World
Description
Hypertension, an oldest disease with multiple etiologies, is easy to diagnose and could be effectively treated with modern medications in majority of patients. However, prevalence and cost for management of the diseases as well its complications remain high, while the awareness, treatment, and control rates are alarmingly low in the modern societies. As a basic cardiovascular disease, hypertension contributes to the initiation and development of almost all kinds of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It is thus a challenging task for medical professional to combat the hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases in a more economic and effective way to reduce the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases burden focusing on more scientific and feasible disease management strategies.
The aim of this special issue is to expand more effective treatment strategies and management models of hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases. We would like authors to contribute with their original research findings from clinical observations/studies regarding on the real-world prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control rate data on hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases, especially, the changes on above data after pharmaceutic and nonpharmaceutic interventions. We encourage authors to submit research papers describing the interrelationship between hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases with other diseases. Last but not least, this special issue welcomes related review articles which describe the current state of hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases in various clinical respects.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- How would the new 2017 ACC/AHA hypertension guidelines affect the real-world clinical management on hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases?
- Real-world scenario of hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases referring prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control, what are the changes during the past decades? What are the changes after pharmaceutic and nonpharmaceutic interventions?
- What concepts are proven to be effective and feasible for the hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases management in the social media era?
