Description

Hypertension (HT) is a common vascular disorder in old population and also the incidence is too increasing around western countries. However, the adequate control and therapeutic of this patients are insufficient, some patients are not correctly diagnosed and other drugs used are neglected. Because the relevance of this problem is very prominent knowledge and understanding of these clinical conditions is so important for the prognosis and successful therapies in order to provide better care of patients.

We invite investigators to contribute original articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand HT in elderly, particularly in papers describing the role of new modalities of treatment, advances in diagnostic procedures on refractory or secondary hypertension, the relationship between blood pressure, snoring, and sleep apnea syndrome. In other words, we are interested in articles that explore different aspects on blood pressure and old population. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel and effective antihypertensive drugs
  • Complementary measures of treatment (diet, salt restriction, exercise, etc.)
  • Identification and relevance of side effects of drugs
