Completely Monotonic and Related Functions: Their Applications
Description
Completely monotonic and related functions are important function classes in mathematical analysis. Recently, researchers did a lot of investigations, in both theory and applications, on these functions, which have remarkable applications in probability and statistics, numerical and asymptotic analysis, statistical physics, physical chemistry, and so forth.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as comprehensive review articles to this special issue which will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand these functions. This special issue mainly focuses on the applications, in all fields, of completely monotonic and related functions. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Completely monotonic functions and their applications
- Almost completely monotonic functions and their applications
- Logarithmically completely monotonic functions and their applications
- Strongly logarithmically completely monotonic functions and their applications
- Strongly completely monotonic functions and their applications
- Almost strongly completely monotonic functions and their applications
- Absolutely monotonic functions and their applications
- Bernstein functions and their applications
- Completely convex functions and their applications
- Moment sequences and their applications
- Mathematical modeling using completely monotonic or related functions
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jam/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jam/mono/ according to the following timetable:
