Modulation of macrophage polarization by natural agents. Macrophages were isolated from healthy subjects and brought into primary culture. Macrophages were incubated with extracts of various medicinal plants and stimulated with IFN-γ (100 ng/mL) or IL-4 (10 ng/mL). Secretion of TNFα and CCL18 was measured by ELISA.
