Calculations of Constant-Height STM Images of Fullerene C60 Adsorbed onto a Surface

The appearances of the different components of the molecular orbitals in Figure 2 (labelled by their symmetries in the top row) when they are split by a surface interaction of symmetry as would be observed in a constant-height STM probe. Both doublets have the same transformation properties in but produce different STM maps, and as such, one of them is distinguished by an asterisk.
