Advanced Sensor Application for Energy Data Monitoring and Management Improvement

Description

Energy monitoring and management have become increasingly important due to global decarbonization issues. However, the applications of sensors to collect field data are based-on traditional methods in most cases. New approaches to the use of sensors, sensor systems, and sensor data processing can improve energy efficiency while reducing costs. Cost and performance are usually critical issues in applying sensor technologies to industry as energy is essential for modern industry, but it is often considered an additional cost. Therefore, cost-effectiveness is crucial in most cases. Therefore, adopting appropriate technologies is important for applying sensor technologies in the real world. Innovative methods for the use of existing sensors, data analysis using AI, big-data analysis, and operation optimizations can be applied to address challenges in this field such as techno-economic analysis for the proposed system.

This Special Issue aims to encourage research efforts focusing on innovative energy monitoring and management approaches, including energy efficiency improvement and verification. Original research and review articles discussing state-of-the-art research are welcome.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • IoT-based sensor technology for efficient energy monitoring
  • Innovative sensor application for energy system
  • Sensor network to improve the accuracy and reliability of sensor data
  • Sensor data analysis for efficient analysis
  • Data security and privacy protection for the energy data
  • Alternative technologies for the conventional sensor system
  • Digital twin-based advanced state estimation combined with sensor data
  • AI-based analysis and optimization
  • Appropriate technology for the sensor system in energy sectors
  • Techno-economic analysis for the applied sensor system
